Manchester United Manager Ruben Amorim Confesses He Cannot Avoid Underwhelming Record
Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim experiences the strain during their three-one defeat at opponents
Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim acknowledges he cannot ignore from his troubling performance and believes it is understandable that club former stars are questioning him.
On Tuesday, the club's record scorer Wayne Rooney stated on his program that "the heart has disappeared" from his former team.
The Portuguese manager has secured just eighteen wins from his forty-nine matches in control, including nine out of thirty-three in the Premier League, where he has yet to record back-to-back consecutive victories.
Although high-level club sources are adamant that the INEOS chief is still backing the manager, an inability to overcome recently promoted Sunderland on Saturday will trigger fresh rumors about his position heading into the upcoming two-week pause in domestic football.
"It is expected," commented the Portuguese manager, when asked about the former striker's comments. "You cannot escape from the results."
"Furthermore you have the history from the previous campaign, [although] that period for me doesn't matter."
Fan Response and Present Circumstances
United's fans remained supportive of Amorim following the previous campaign's dismal showing, when they finished fifteenth in the table - their poorest showing since the 1973/74 demotion season - and were defeated in the European final, in the expectation that the current campaign would be substantially better.
Amorim assured fans the position would change because he had more time to work with his players without the weekly distraction of European football.
However is not how the initial six matches have materialised as Manchester United have endured three defeats so far and sit 14th in the league.
Manager's Response to Concerns
When questioned what promises he could offer supporters that the circumstances will change, the manager added: "It's not time to talk, it is the time to prove."
"Personally review the games in the current campaign and, for me, they are totally distinct, but I have little to say at this moment."
